Ardent smokers are turning to vape as a means to reduce the amount of nicotine and tobacco inhaled during smoking. This method of smoking is assumed to be a healthier alternative for individuals who are addicted to cigarettes. Vaping itself is the technique of inhaling the vapor of concentrates or dry herbs using a vaporizer.
Vaping has been around for quite a while and has only changed in its application. The question on everyone’s mind, however, is, how safe is vaping? Is vaping safer than cigarette smoking? to get an answer to this, let’s take a look at what makes up “vaping”
The electric device called a vaporizer consists of an atomizer, housing, cartridges and batteries which work together to heat the concentrate or herbs, converting it to vapor, which is inhaled.

There are an infinite amount of flavors to pick from when considering vaping and it is considered to be lighter on the lungs than regular smoking. Chain smokers who have indulged in vaping for years say that vaping is pleasurable, delightful and a smoother taste, admitting that it has also contributed positively to their efforts in trying to quit smoking.
Despite the optimism of smokers when E-cigarettes hit the market, there is great uncertainty as to whether Vaping is safe or not. However, here are so facts about vaping in comparison to cigarettes.
Is Vaping safer than smoking cigarettes?
- According to a report, vaping is found to be at least 95% safer than smoking
- Vaping greatly minimizes the amount of volatile organic compounds inhaled and exhaled
- E-Cigarettes are less hazardous compared to cigarettes and enable smokers to minimize nicotine intake
- Regular cigarettes are found to contain at least 7,000 chemicals, of which many of them are highly toxic. Even though the complete chemical composition of the E-cigarette is unknown, it is vetted to contain less harmful substances.
In spite of the clear advantages of vaping over smoking, it is also a fact that E-cigarettes are still unhealthy and can be used to vapes very addictive contents such as cannabis and other substances. More and more teens are being introduced to smoking every day due to the classy and alluring looks of e-cigarettes. It was found in 2015 that at least 40 percent of e-cigarette users were non-smokers and largely students. It was also reported that vaping suppresses the immune system-related genes just as much as cigarettes.
There are significant health risks associated with vaping, even though, undoubtedly it is less harmful than smoking depending on how it is used. The complete chemical composition of vaping products is yet uncertain. It may be best to abstain from vaping until there is a well-defined certainty.
